FABRICATION / WELDING LEAD - NASMYTH CE Added 3/11/2022

   
We are looking to recruit a Welding and Fabricator Lead who will be responsible for delivery of the manufacturing delivery plan who has worked in the fabrication industrial sector. To be successful in this position, you must have worked in an engineering environment with hands-on experience using fabrication and welding tooling with strong attention to detail ability to carry out all required duties.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
 
Technical Duties:
  • Ability to read technical engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Must be able to use a variety of assembly/fabrication and welding fixturing and tooling.
  • Able to understand customer technical requirements and capture issues, concerns and risks and offer technical feedback to the Manufacturing Manager and engineering department.
  • Must be able to retrieve relevant technical information from customer models and drawings.
  • Must be able to multitask and work under pressure to deliver to deadlines.
 
Communications:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with internal and external parties at all levels.
  • Must be able to articulate issues to management team.
  • Recording of all relevant information for audit purposes.
 
Essential Skills and Abilities:
  • The post holder will need to have had proven experience in working within the engineering heavy welding and fabrication industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong Technical knowledge.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Additional hours will be as and where required on an ongoing basis in order that pre-set tasks are completed and issues are resolved in timely manner.
  • Ability to pass weld tests and have a strong understanding of H+S responsibilities.
  • Ability to react to unpredictable situations.
  • Ability to deal with complex problems at short notice and resolve issues with the operational team.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods.
  • Ability to work in a team.
 
Specific Duties
  • Perform tasks in accordance to Production Manager direction.
  • Fabrication/weld/assy and support all other areas of operations to achieve internal and external customer deadlines.
  • Provide cover and support to Manufacturing Manager and Engineering departments as well as manufacture and lead by example in a multi-disciplined environment.
Good terms and conditions and rates of pay.
Monday - Friday (37 hours per week)
