Job Purpose:
Responsible for the establishment / provision of technical solutions and cost estimates in response to Custoemr generated RFQ's.

The Company    
 A mid-sized, long established Engineering Company based in Coventry specialising in the manufacture of low / medium volume high value high integrity Aero-Engine Components containing Fabricated, Pressed, Welded and Machined Features.

The Role
Handling Customer generate RFQ’s and working within a team environment, the management / generation of a cost proposal, which would include: -
1. Raw Material & Bought Out costings.
2. Sourcing and costing of Sub Contract Operations.
3. Establishing of a Tooling Solution / Budget.
4. Generation of a method of manufacture inclusive of all direct and indirect sequences and containing set & run times per operation.
5. Advise on initial lead times.
6. Support the Contract Review Process.

  • Support the sales process, ensuring that all customer requests for quotation and information are responded to in a timely manner.
  • Support the costing process for part prices on current customer portfolios, working with the Purchasing, Engineering & Accounts departments to ensure cost models and material prices are updated and accurate. 
  • Maintain and report on existing KPI’s on an ongoing basis.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required:
  • Good knowledge of the latest manufacturing techniques.
  • Proven customer service experience.
  • Good IT skills, including email, word, excel and MRP/ERP systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with internal and external parties at all levels.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritise and multi-task, with minimal guidance and supervision.
  • Strong team player.
