To purchase Materials, bought out finished components and Indirect commodities and services at the most competitive price and in the most efficient manner.  This involves obtaining quotations, managing the order book, progress updates and the general day to day operationo of the varios contracts.  Based at the Coventry site, Monday - Friday, 37 hours per week.

The Role: -

  • Be a focal point for management of supply base – Supplier Management.
  • Ensure on time delivery of purchased content, ensuring the high quality requirements of aerospace are maintained.
  • Managing forecast schedules for contracted parts.
  • Pursuing supplier cost reduction initiatives.
  • Liaising with internal customers and external suppliers.
  • Purchase Order Management (Dealing with order enquiries, price enquiries).
  • Conducting Tenders (Data analysis).
  • Working closely with the Supply Chain Team/Commercial & Operations Team.
  • Monitoring Performance of the Suppliers.
  • Responsible for providing general administrative support to the Purchasing Team. 
Essential Requirements
  • The purpose of this role is to bring in a professional buyer with presence, credibility and a successful track record in purchasing within precision engineering for customers such as Rolls Royce and thus having dealt with Aerospace suppliers (with all that entails in terms of complexity / lead times).
  • Purchasing experience – Used to handling large supply base in multiple product environments.
  • Raw Materials Knowledge (commercial aerospace raw materials specifically Rolls-Royce approved materials) .
  • Worked within a manufacturing environment.
  • Supplier Management experience.
  • Experience of ERP/MRP or similar purchasing systems. 
Ideal Requirements
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with internal and external parties at all levels.
  • Experience of a business that includes design & development capabilities will be  advantageous.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritise and multi-task, with guidance and supervision.
  • Good team player.
  • Good IT skills, including email, word, excel and databases.
