We are looking to recruit a Quality Engineer who has worked in the fabrication industrial sector.
To be successful in this position, you must have worked in an engineering environment with hands-on experience using CMM’s and Romer Arm to PC-DMIS software, with strong attention to detail.
Technical Duties:
  • Owning and maintaining and target setting of the Company Quality Management Systems.
  • Being proficient in Auditing for Quality/Environmental and also Health + Safety to meet all BSi criteria.
  • Attending meetings with Customers/Management and Shop floor teams to ensure legislation and drawing requirements are all met.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of CMM and Romer Arm using PC-DMIS software.
  • Ability to read technical engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Able to understand customer technical requirements and capture issues, concerns and risks and offer technical feedback to the production management team.
  • Must be able to retrieve relevant technical information from customer models and drawings.
  • Must be able to multitask and work under pressure to deliver to deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with internal and external parties at all levels.
  • Must be able to generate inspection reports and articulate issues to management team.
  • Recording of all relevant information for audit purposes.
Essential Skills and Abilities:
  • Must have working knowledge of CMM and Romer Arm using PC-DMIS software.
  • The post holder will need to have had proven experience in working within the engineering fabrication industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong Technical knowledge.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Additional hours will be as and where required on an ongoing basis in order that pre-set tasks are completed and issues are resolved in timely manner.
  • Ability to react to unpredictable situations.
  • Ability to deal with complex problems at short notice and resolve issues with the operational team.
  • Excellent understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Working to customer specifications and exceeding the set standards.
  • Time management and the ability to work to set deadlines to meet business requirements.
  • Setting up/maintaining of business directories to support business growth.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and support change.
  • Professional approach to internal and external customers.
  • To be proficient in Word/Excel and PowerPoint packages.
  • To run and maintain the drawing stores as the lead engineer for quality.
  • Scanning and logging of all work packs ensuring all records are maintained and backed up to ensure auditory compliance.
  • Working to the highest Standards to support the team’s growth.
