QUALITY INSPECTOR - NASMYTH CE Added 3/9/2021

 
We are looking to recruit a Quality Inspector who has worked in the fabrication industrial sector. To be successful in this position, you must have worked in an engineering environment with hands-on experience using CMM’s and Romer Arm to PC-DMIS software, with strong attention to detail.

Technical Duties:
  • Ability to read technical engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Sign off inspection stages and complete job cards.
  • Visual inspect, test or measure materials, products for conformance to specifications / drawings.
  • Must be able to use inspection measurement equipment, including use of PC-DMIS software.
  • Measure dimensions of product to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as callipers, gauges or micrometres.
  • Able to understand customer technical requirements and capture issues, concerns and risks and offer technical feedback to the production manager and Quality department.
  • Must be able to retrieve relevant technical information from customer models and drawings.
  • Must be able to multitask and work under pressure to deliver to deadlines.
 
Communications:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with internal and external parties at all levels.
  • Must be able to generate inspection reports and articulate issues to management team.
  • Recording of all relevant information for audit purposes.
 
Essential Skills and Abilities:
  • The post holder will need to have had proven experience in working within the engineering fabrication industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong Technical knowledge.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Additional hours will be as and where required on an ongoing basis in order that pre-set tasks are completed and issues are resolved in timely manner.
  • Ability to react to unpredictable situations.
  • Ability to deal with complex problems at short notice and resolve issues with the operational team.
 
Competencies:
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of CMM and Romer Arm using PC-DMIS software.
  • Excellent understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods.
  • Ability to work in a team.

Monday - Friday, 37 hours per week
